Petmate 8-Panel Wire Dog Exercise Pen with Door — pen research review

Eight panels, several possible footprints

Petmate’s wire family demonstrates why a pen needs more than a single width in a comparison table. Eight connected panels can make different shapes; a bounding width is not the same as usable enclosed floor area. Sketch the intended arrangement around a bed and bowl first. The door and ground hardware are useful details to verify on the exact height being purchased.

Original research assessment, not a hands-on test.

What to check before buying

Usable interior and outside footprint in the chosen shape are not independently measured.
Confirm the exact height, panel count, door opening, seller and included hardware before purchase.

Measure usable enclosed area separately from the outside footprint, projecting feet and door swing. See the measurement guide →
