A support harness is a different purchase from a walking vest with a handle. We would begin with the dog's assistance needs and the handler's ability, then compare the location of support.

What we would care about first

  1. Decide with a veterinarian or rehabilitation professional whether rear-only or full-body support is appropriate.
  2. Check the measurements, sensitive-area clearance and toileting instructions for the actual model.
  3. Look at the handler's reach and the supplied straps or handles rather than choosing solely by the dog's weight.
