Dog pens on hardwood, tile and other smooth floors

Inspect every contact point

Look at connector ends, panel corners and projecting feet, not only the main wall. Confirm any floor-protection advice in the manual. A product described as indoor/outdoor may still need a different arrangement inside.

Use a flat, clean foundation

Choose compatible protection that does not bunch beneath the doorway or leave exposed edges for chewing. Keep grit from collecting under feet or mats. Check beneath the setup for moisture after spills and cleaning.

Separate grip from anchoring

A rubber foot or mat may reduce sliding in some circumstances, but that is not the same as an anchored structure. Observe the installed pen under normal supervised use and reassess if panels move or joints shift.

Include the real footprint

Feet and floor layers can extend beyond the usable interior. Leave room for walking around them. If the only available layout puts a projecting base into a busy path, reconsider the configuration.
