Best dog kennels for the Audi Q7

Set the Q7’s powered third row before loading, and treat any retained passenger seat as a separate access requirement.

This guide builds on our general guide to choosing the best kennel for your vehicle. Start there for the overall approach, or change vehicles with the selector below.

Start with your Audi Q7’s layout

The Q7 has three rows, with powered folding for the third row on the 2026 model. Complete that seat movement before putting a kennel into position. The controls are part of the loading sequence, not a way to make more room around an occupied or secured enclosure.

A partial-third-row layout needs more scrutiny than simply placing a kennel beside one raised seat. Preserve the passenger’s path in and out, belt use and seating room. Also inspect the base support beneath the enclosure rather than assuming every folded-seat transition makes one continuous platform.

With the whole third row folded, start with a single rear-facing door. If you want a second entrance, have someone test reaching it from the cabin with the second row and child seats in place. The fact that a hand can touch the latch does not mean a dog has a usable exit through that route.

Compare the complete G1 and RuffLand installations after the row arrangement is settled. Include luggage and access to the seat releases in the trial. For a Q7 that changes between family transport and dog trips, decide whether the empty kennel can be removed without leaning on controls or moving the seats before the enclosure is clear.

The checks that matter here

Kennels we would compare for the Audi Q7

Choose full-row folding or a genuinely usable partial-row plan before comparing enclosures.

RuffLand single-door kennel

A rear-entry RuffLand is a candidate when the third-row arrangement leaves its doorway clear.

When we would pass: A second door is useful only if the dog can actually use the cabin route.

Gunner G1

Compare G1 with the powered seats already in their final positions.

When we would pass: Reject a layout that relies on moving a powered seat against the kennel.

These are candidates to investigate, not confirmed fits. Match the exact size and installation instructions to your dog and vehicle before ordering.

Before you order

Use the main guide’s dog-sizing and loading-route checklist to test your chosen layout. Review how to check crash-test evidence for the exact product and installation; a successful physical fit does not establish crash protection.

Bring your dog’s measurements, your model year and trim, and photos of the intended installation area to the kennel seller. Ask for the exterior envelope and usable interior measurements of the exact size and door configuration. Confirm the return terms before a trial fit.
