This guide builds on our general guide to choosing the best kennel for your vehicle. Start there for the overall approach, or change vehicles with the selector below.

Start with your Lincoln Nautilus’s layout

The Nautilus was redesigned for 2024, so an older owner’s kennel photo should start a question rather than answer it. Establish the generation and cargo-floor arrangement in your own vehicle. A shared name does not preserve the opening, seatback position or usable envelope through a redesign.

The newer model’s 60:40 EasyFold seatbacks give alternatives for occasional cargo use. For daily dog travel, first retain the seats your passengers need. If one side folds, make sure the enclosure’s support and securing plan remain valid across the resulting surface and that the adjacent passenger keeps a normal exit.

Look at the seat releases and floor-storage access with a mock-up in position. If the kennel will remain installed, decide which controls or compartments you can reasonably give up accessing without removal. Keep regularly used dog supplies elsewhere rather than making every stop depend on releasing the enclosure.

Compare a rear-entry RuffLand and G1 after fixing that arrangement. We would favor the setup that can return to the same position after cleaning or errands. Record the floor setting and seat configuration with the measurements so a seller can discuss the actual installation instead of a generic Nautilus cargo-capacity number.

The checks that matter here

Kennels we would compare for the Lincoln Nautilus

Choose a repeatable floor-and-seat configuration, then compare rear-entry enclosures.

RuffLand single-door kennel

A single-door RuffLand can be investigated behind the retained rear seats with the floor set for normal use.

When we would pass: Do not combine a predecessor’s dimensions with the redesigned Nautilus interior.

Gunner G1

Compare G1 when the selected position leaves the securing hardware and necessary controls accessible.

When we would pass: A shell that blocks routine floor access may be inconvenient as a permanent installation.

These are candidates to investigate, not confirmed fits. Match the exact size and installation instructions to your dog and vehicle before ordering.

Before you order

Use the main guide’s dog-sizing and loading-route checklist to test your chosen layout. Review how to check crash-test evidence for the exact product and installation; a successful physical fit does not establish crash protection.

Bring your dog’s measurements, your model year and trim, and photos of the intended installation area to the kennel seller. Ask for the exterior envelope and usable interior measurements of the exact size and door configuration. Confirm the return terms before a trial fit.
