Best dog kennels for the Ford Bronco Sport

The Bronco Sport needs its own kennel decision; it is not the smaller trim of the Bronco.

This guide builds on our general guide to choosing the best kennel for your vehicle. Start there for the overall approach, or change vehicles with the selector below.

Start with your Ford Bronco Sport’s layout

The Bronco Sport needs its own kennel decision; it is not the smaller trim of the Bronco. Its enclosed crossover layout gives you a rear cargo area to evaluate, but the available footprint depends on which seats stay occupied. Begin with the rear bench in your usual position and the equipment you keep aboard for walks, camping or muddy trails.

Inspect the full loading opening and not just the tallest point of the roof. The kennel’s upper corners, latch and handles can be the limiting pieces. If your vehicle has an accessory cargo-management arrangement, shelf or organizer, measure with it installed or make a deliberate plan to remove it before every journey. Do not count space occupied by equipment twice.

Build the travel layout around easy access after a wet walk: the dog should be reachable, the latch should open fully and towels should not block ventilation. Check the installation instructions before relying on any vehicle loop as an attachment point. A full-size mock-up is especially useful here because the cargo compartment’s shape matters more than a single volume figure.

The checks that matter here

Kennels we would compare for the Ford Bronco Sport

We would investigate a single-door RuffLand for a simple rear-loading setup, then compare a suitable Gunner G1 where the dog size and exterior shell both work. A second kennel door is useful only when a real route remains available through the passenger compartment. It will not solve a kennel that is too long for the usable cargo floor.

A sensible configuration to investigate for rear access in the Bronco Sport; test its door with any cargo shelf, liner and adventure equipment installed.

When we would pass: A shelf or cargo-management accessory must be included in the trial or deliberately removed; its space cannot be counted twice.

Gunner G1

Compare the full G1 envelope against the Bronco Sport hatch opening, rather than relying on the tall-looking roof or an empty-cargo photograph.

When we would pass: Do not buy a second entrance when the rear seats leave no practical route to it.

These are candidates to investigate, not confirmed fits. Match the exact size and installation instructions to your dog and vehicle before ordering.

Before you order

Use the main guide’s dog-sizing and loading-route checklist to test your chosen layout. Review how to check crash-test evidence for the exact product and installation; a successful physical fit does not establish crash protection.

Bring your dog’s measurements, your model year and trim, and photos of the intended installation area to the kennel seller. Ask for the exterior envelope and usable interior measurements of the exact size and door configuration. Confirm the return terms before a trial fit.
