This guide builds on our general guide to choosing the best kennel for your vehicle. Start there for the overall approach, or change vehicles with the selector below.
Start with your Lexus TX’s layout
The TX is a family vehicle first for many owners, so a realistic kennel plan starts with the people and stroller. Mark the third-row seats that must stay available and where the trip’s bags go. Only the space remaining behind that passenger arrangement belongs in the first kennel comparison.
Lexus offers second-row captain’s chairs or a bench depending on grade. The apparent aisle between chairs can be useful for a person reaching the back, but it is not automatically an extension of the kennel footprint. Keep that route separate from the enclosure and its installation hardware.
With the third row folded, consider whether a double-door kennel would create a reachable cabin entrance. Have someone try that approach with the second-row occupants and child seats in place. If the route disappears under normal family use, one rear-facing door is the more relevant configuration to measure.
The full rehearsal should include a stop where the dog gets out but the luggage stays aboard. Can you reach the latch and leash without removing the stroller onto the roadside? Compare G1 and RuffLand only after answering that question. A generous empty cargo area is less valuable than a packed layout that supports ordinary family stops.
The checks that matter here
- Captain chairs or second-row bench
- Passenger route to retained third-row seats
- Stroller packed without blocking dog access
Kennels we would compare for the Lexus TX
Build a dog-and-family packing plan before choosing a shell or second door.
RuffLand double-door kennel

A double-door RuffLand deserves comparison when the TX’s actual seat arrangement leaves a usable cabin approach.
When we would pass: Do not count the passenger aisle as extra supported kennel floor.

Gunner G1

A G1 with rear access can be a candidate once the stroller and luggage have their own positions.
When we would pass: If every dog stop requires unloading family equipment, revisit the layout first.

These are candidates to investigate, not confirmed fits. Match the exact size and installation instructions to your dog and vehicle before ordering.
Before you order
Use the main guide’s dog-sizing and loading-route checklist to test your chosen layout. Review how to check crash-test evidence for the exact product and installation; a successful physical fit does not establish crash protection.
Bring your dog’s measurements, your model year and trim, and photos of the intended installation area to the kennel seller. Ask for the exterior envelope and usable interior measurements of the exact size and door configuration. Confirm the return terms before a trial fit.
