Best dog kennels for the Hyundai Palisade

The Palisade’s useful kennel space depends on which rows are occupied, not simply its size or advertised seating capacity.

This guide builds on our general guide to choosing the best kennel for your vehicle. Start there for the overall approach, or change vehicles with the selector below.

Start with your Hyundai Palisade’s layout

For the Palisade, a suitable GUNNER G1 and RuffLand Intermediate are useful cargo-kennel candidates when the third row can remain folded. They are not guaranteed fits, and choosing between them starts with your dog’s interior-space requirements. If you regularly fill all three rows, the smaller luggage space behind those passengers needs its own assessment rather than an assumption that a large SUV always accommodates a large kennel.

Verify the model year before using someone else’s measurements, particularly across the Palisade’s redesign. Seating also varies: a second-row bench and captain’s chairs affect access and the space passengers need. Establish your real arrangement first and measure with those seats occupied or set for their occupants. Do not count an access aisle as available kennel space merely because it is empty in a showroom photograph.

Check the kennel’s entry path through the hatch and its installed position separately. The roof and rear glass can limit the upper corners even when the base fits the floor. Confirm continuous support beneath the shell and access to the attachment points required by the kennel manufacturer. If a double-door version interests you, make sure its additional opening is reachable rather than facing trim or a seatback.

Rehearse a fully packed departure. The stroller, cooler and family bags need restrained storage that does not bury the kennel latch or obstruct air movement. Leave usable access to every occupied row, and check that no seat movement needed during the trip conflicts with the installed kennel. If those requirements cannot coexist, change the seating plan or restraint solution instead of purchasing a smaller-than-needed crate simply to retain luggage room.

The checks that matter here

Kennels we would compare for the Hyundai Palisade

Prioritize the right dog size and a verified installation that leaves necessary passenger and loading access clear.

GUNNER G1 — select size for your dog

A candidate when the Palisade’s third row can stay folded and you can reserve installation space.

When we would pass: A family load with all rows occupied needs a different assessment from the folded-third-row arrangement.

Worth comparing with the family’s actual luggage and preferred kennel-door access.

When we would pass: Test door access with the stroller aboard; an empty cargo-area photograph leaves that conflict unanswered.

These are candidates to investigate, not confirmed fits. Match the exact size and installation instructions to your dog and vehicle before ordering.

Before you order

Use the main guide’s dog-sizing and loading-route checklist to test your chosen layout. Review how to check crash-test evidence for the exact product and installation; a successful physical fit does not establish crash protection.

Bring your dog’s measurements, your model year and trim, and photos of the intended installation area to the kennel seller. Ask for the exterior envelope and usable interior measurements of the exact size and door configuration. Confirm the return terms before a trial fit.
