This guide builds on our general guide to choosing the best kennel for your vehicle. Start there for the overall approach, or change vehicles with the selector below.
Start with your Jeep Wagoneer’s layout
A Wagoneer’s large exterior does not eliminate the kennel decision; it changes which seating compromise you need to examine. Begin by deciding whether the third row must remain usable. The space available behind a raised third row is a different project from an installation extending into the area exposed when that row is folded. Keep the required people in the plan from the outset.
Confirm whether you own the standard-length vehicle or a Wagoneer L, then measure that exact cargo area. Do not substitute an installation photographed in a Grand Wagoneer or assume the newer Wagoneer S shares the same interior. These badges are easy to mix up in shopping searches. Record the model year alongside your measurements so a seller can evaluate the actual arrangement rather than a broad model family.
Think through bags, a stroller and how the dog will reach the cargo floor at every stop. Keep loose equipment from becoming a moving load around the kennels, and avoid making third-row passengers climb around an installed enclosure. Jeep now directs Wagoneer shoppers toward Grand Wagoneer, but existing Wagoneer owners still need guidance for their own vehicle. Use your year’s owner information, and confirm the selected kennel size and mounting instructions before buying.
The checks that matter here
- Standard-length Wagoneer versus Wagoneer L
- Third-row occupied versus folded installation
- Two-kennel width including ventilation and door swing
- Access for passengers, luggage and controlled dog entry
Kennels we would compare for the Jeep Wagoneer
For a single dog, we would compare a suitable Gunner G1 and a RuffLand kennel while reserving room to operate the door and reach the restraint hardware. A second kennel entrance can be useful if it gives access from the passenger side after installation. For two dogs, start with two complete kennel footprints plus ventilation and latch access; the fact that two boxes can be placed side by side does not finish the plan.
Gunner G1 — exact size to be confirmed

Compare with the required third-row seats raised or folded, and reserve space for installation and ordinary luggage.
When we would pass: Standard Wagoneer, Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer examples are not interchangeable fit evidence.

RuffLand — exact size and door configuration to be confirmed

Compare single- and double-door layouts if you have a usable alternate access route or are arranging two kennels.
When we would pass: If the third row remains occupied, a cabin-facing kennel door may have no usable approach.

These are candidates to investigate, not confirmed fits. Match the exact size and installation instructions to your dog and vehicle before ordering.
Before you order
Use the main guide’s dog-sizing and loading-route checklist to test your chosen layout. Review how to check crash-test evidence for the exact product and installation; a successful physical fit does not establish crash protection.
Bring your dog’s measurements, your model year and trim, and photos of the intended installation area to the kennel seller. Ask for the exterior envelope and usable interior measurements of the exact size and door configuration. Confirm the return terms before a trial fit.
